The coven has been pretty quiet this year with 2 of its members being away from Toronto. Things will be picking up again, however, come this summer. In the mean time the members pages have been updated. Enjoy!
July 31,2005It has been a hectic summer for members of Silver Birch, and as a result of many of us being away from the city, we have not been holding regular meetings. However, members Heather and Cally have had some amazing experiences in England and Scotland, at places such as Stonehenge and Avebury, that will be documented soon on the Events page. Also, members of the coven attended Caer Avalon's Lughnassadh ritual today and had a great time. Details of this event will also be posted on the events page. Plans for holding a coven Lughnassadh ritual are under way. Pictures of Wiccanfest, Heather and Cally's trip, and today's Caer Avalon event will be posted as soon as we can get them up, so keep checking!

May 3,2005On Sunday Silver Birch attended Caer Avalon's Beltaine ritual to celebrate the fertility of the Earth. We will post pictures as soon as we get our hands on them! It was a wonderful evening, and you can find out details on the the Events page!

April 21,2005Last Saturday Silver Birch held a coven meeting out by the water at the Scarbrough Bluffs. We called upon the faerie folk to join us as we welcomed the warmth of Spring. The ritual involved lots of dancing, chanting and singing, music-playing, as well as henna tattoos. It also involved a very...interesting tramp through the shore of the beach, over rocks and mounds of clay. Let's just say that we found a better spot for the ritual!

Also, we're temporarily having some technical difficulties with our members page. Please make note that the page entitled "Stephanie" really has the content of Cally's page. March 7,2005On Saturday Silver Birch had a full coven meeting, and it was nice to see everyone, including some members whom we haven't seen in a while! The meeting went great, and details are on the events page!

January 9,2005Yesterday was Silver Birch's first meeting of the new year. The focus of the meeting was astral projection. We worked with different techniques, and achieved some very interesting results. We also looked at different herbs and incenses that help to induce projection. At the meeting we also discussed our idea of holding a Goddess ritual for our female Pagan friends. It looks like it will be a very fun night and we're very excited to hold it sometime in mid-February. Our next meeting is scheduled for the 22nd, and we will be continuing work with astral projection, and planning the Goddess ritual.

November 29,2004This weekend members of Silver Birch attended the Canadian Aboriginal Festival at the Skydome. It was much fun, details will be posted on the events page. Also, this coming Saturday there will be a coven meeting, in which we will learn about Yule traditions, and create traditional Yule crafts in the spirit of the season!
November 14,2004Today the coven had our first teaching meeting of the season. The topic was the element of water, and each member researched the meaning of the element to a certain culture. The meeting included a trip to the beach at the Scarbrough Bluffs, to do a water ritual. The weather was fantastic and it was absolutely beautiful down at the water. The meeting ended back at Sam's house, with hot chocolate and psychic readings from her father. It was a great time!
November 5,2004October was an extremely busy month for Silver Birch. But now that it is over, we have time to get things caught up. Last weekend, Silverbirch hosted a teenage Samhain event, our traditional Celtic Samhain Feast of the Dead. Details of this will be posted on the Events page. This month marks the beginning of our "teaching months", during which we will be holding regular meetings to cover different subjects that we are interested in. Details about these meetings will be posted on the Events page as they occur. Also, we are sad to say goodbye to our dear friend Stephanie, whose time with the coven has come to an end. But we wish her all the best in her journey along the spiritual path!
October 4,2004 Harvest fest this weekend was amazing and we had a great time. Details are now posted on the events page, and hopefully sometime soon pictures will be posted. Also, pictures from the Renaissance festival have been posted, and there are more coming. Once we get them developed, pictures from Harvest fest will also be posted so keep checking back. Members of Silver Birch are going to Harvest fest!!!! We are so excited as for most of us this will be the first overnight Pagan festival that we've ever been to. We are leaving tomorrow, and details about the event will be posted soon after we get back. Yay!
September 21,2004 This Sunday Silver Birch celebrated Amelia's dedication, and had a full coven meeting which was long overdue! We also attended Caer Avalon's Mabon ritual last night, which was great, and details are posted on the Events page. Also, at the moment we're having technical difficulties with Amelia's page, so please bear with us through this and through figuring out how to post new pics on the pictures page. Information about the happenings of Pagan Pride 2004 has been posted on the Events page, and Amelia's picture, which it turns out had not previously been added to her profile, has now been added to her profile, lol! Also, we're in the process of posting pictures from our trip the the Renaissance Festival, so please bear with us while we get those up!

August 15,2004 This weekend, after a summer filled with camp and travelling, all of the members of Silver Birch were finally beack together at coffee. It was so nice to have the whole gang together again. Although the summer is not over, and we're not all back for good, we are in the beginning processes of trying to figure out times for the next coven meeting and for Amelia's dedication ritual. We're going to try our best to be able to have them at the end of August, but if all of the members are not back yet we must wait until early September. Also, Silver Birch attended the Renaissance Festival this Saturday; check the events page for details. There were also many pictures taken at the event, and we're going to try to put them up as quickly as possible.
July 19,2004 The Coven of the Silver Birch is going to the Renaissance Festival! This is something members of the coven have been wanting to do for a long time, so we are very excited that it's finally happening. The coven will be going on the trip hosted by Sacred Crossroads, A Toronto Pagan group. Also, a tentative date has been set for Amelia's dedication ritual. We are aiming to have it on Saturday, August 28th.
July 19,2004 It's been pretty quiet on the coven website lately because, as is often the case, with the summer comes holidays, and many members of Silver Birch are away. However, we would like to arrange a meeting soon for those members who are still in the city. Lughnassadh is coming up and we're going to try to plan a small ritual in celebration of the first harvest. We have begun to think about Amelia's dedication, and although no date is set yet, we would like to have it at the end of August, when everyone has come back, and before school starts up again. Hope everyone is having a great summer!
June 27,2004 Yesturday the members of Silver Birch initiated our newest member, Alix into the coven. The ritual was lovely and we were all so happy to celebrate her accomplishment.
June 17,2004 Members of the coven are very excited for this Sunday, because we will be attending a Native American powwow that includes a sunrise cerimony. Thanks to Samantha and her family for arranging this event! That evening, we will also be attending Caer Avalon's Midsummer festival. The one year anniversary of the Coven of the Silver Birch is coming up and we are very excited to celebrate that along with our own Midsummer ritual early next week! June 12,2004 Alix's initiation has been scheduled for June 26th and will be celebrated (we think very appropriately)by the coven attending the Rocky Horror Picture Show the night before. It should be a very exciting weekend!
June 6, 2004 Today the coven had a very overdue meeting that involved a lot of planning of events, including details of Alix's initiation. Planning has also gone underway to go on a canopy tour in Haliburton, which involves camping, canoeing, visiting a wolf sanctuary, and walking on paths high up in the trees! The coven is very excited to have this experience. In talking about plans for summer coven meetings, we came to a general consensus that we would like to focus on meditations, faerie magick, and totem animals, in the spirit of summer. The meeting ended with us going to see Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The coven can't wait until summer when we can begin attending WCC classes and when we can get together more frequently!
May 12, 2004 Planning has now gone underway for Alix's initiation. Currently the date is tentatively set for mid to late June.The coven can't wait to welcome her as our newest initiated member!
May 11, 2004 Last Saturday, the coven celebrated Stephanie's dedication into the coven. A most joyous time was had by all. Amelia's picture has been added to her profile. Unfortunately, one of the finding members of Silver Birch, Raven, has decided to leave the coven and continue on her own path in a different direction. April 10, 2004 Yesterday the coven had a full meeting after quite some time with the majority of the coven present. A lot of planning was done as the coven is now embarking on a number of different projects in and around the Toronto community. Helping to host Pagan Pride Day this year and the upcoming Sun King Competition being just two of them. More details on these events to come. Plans have gone under way for an Initiation ritual for Alix and a Dedication ritual for Stephanie in the near future. The coven also welcomes in Amelia as the newest member, her member page will be debuting soon.
