Facts about the coven and answers to the questions the members get asked the most. How old do I have to be to join The coven is geared towards late teens so applicants have to be at least 15 years of age to apply. Do I have to have parents' permission to join? Applicants under the age of 18 must have parental permission to join. The initiated members are open to speaking with parents who may have their own questions about the coven. What are your age ranges? The ages of the coven, thus far, range from 15-20. How often does the coven meet? The coven meets twice a month on the weekend (usually Saturday or Sunday) rotating among the houses of he initiated members. In warm weather, the coven will meet outdoors in parks around the city. How often do you hold public events? Public events are held time and money permitting. At the moment there are no specific Sabbats that we routinely hold events for. However, any open events that we plan to hold will be posted on www. witchvox.com at least a month ahead of time. Esbats are held for coven members only. What are the events for? Events are held to celebrate the Sabbat and to open the coven up to the Toronto Pagan community, especially the younger (teen) generation. Each event is family-oriented so anyone is welcome. We gather in celebration, to network and meet others, and most importantly, to have fun. Does the coven ever attend any other open events? Coven members can be found in attendance at the monthly Cerridwen's Mug Pagan coffeehouse meet as well as various Caer Avalon hosted events and Wiccan Church of Canada public rituals. I would like to join the coven, but my parents are against it. What should I do? Initiated members are reachable by phone and are opened to speaking with parents about any of their concerns. If parents wish to speak with another parent, Samantha's mother Cathy is open to speaking with parents as well. Does it cost me anything to join? It does not cost anything to join the coven, however, meetings are held in various locations throughout Toronto and the surrounding area (North York, Scarborough, and Thornhill thus far) so if applicants are travelling via public transit then transit costs will have to be covered by the individual and not by the coven. Any field trips attended by the coven (open rituals, religious/spiritual centers, public gardens, etc.) may have entrance costs or usually accept donations, this will have to be covered on an individual basis. Being able to pitch in for gas money during the times that members are willing to drive the coven to events is required as well.
